Novena to Merciful Love. Blessed Mother Speranza of Jesus

Blessed Mother Speranza of Jesus, one of the most important figures of holiness in the twentieth century, composed a novena with the aim of spreading devotion to Merciful Love. Through sober reflections on the individual phrases of the Our Father and brief invocations, one is led to feelings of deep trust in the Lord’s mercy, in order to attain sincere contrition for the forgiveness of one’s sins and obtain the graces one wishes to ask for. The book contains a small section dedicated to Mary Mediatrix, presenting the novena, prayers, and litanies. Mother Speranza reminds us, in fact, that Jesus cannot be possessed except through Mary, and for this reason she never tired of recommending Our Lady as a sure and simple model to follow: “Mary Mediatrix is the easiest model to imitate.”
