Spikenard oil is obtained from the roots of the plant that grows in the high mountains of the Himalayan regions and has a distinctive, very woody fragrance. After careful research, it is recreated by the Dominican nuns of the Monastery of Santa Maria della Neve as a blend of essential oils and authentic floral essences.
