Prayers to Saint Joseph

Dedicated to Saint Joseph, this volume aims to present the best-known and most significant prayers with which, for centuries, the faithful have turned to him as a powerful patron, faithful guardian, father, and friend. Known as the “glory of domestic life,” “patron of the dying,” and “terror of demons,” Saint Joseph is still invoked today to obtain healing and conversion, help with children, a new job or a new home, and assistance with all of life’s needs. The volume also places considerable emphasis on the theological foundation of devotion to Saint Joseph through the most important documents of the papal Magisterium, showing how highly the Church regards this great saint, imitates his virtues, and turns to his intercession and protection. Over the centuries, numerous saints have also experienced Saint Joseph’s great power of intercession and recommended turning to him. Saint Teresa of Ávila writes: “I would like to persuade everyone to become devoted to this glorious Saint, given my great experience of the favors he obtains from God.” All that remains is for us to come to know Saint Joseph, imitate his virtues, and turn to him, certain that we will be heard and granted our requests.
