A Christian's Rule of Life and Two Sermons

It is the only work by Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori explicitly intended for laypeople, as a simple tool to help them respond to the universal call to holiness, providing means to remain in God’s grace, devotional exercises, and the practice of Christian virtues. The volume is completed by two beautiful sermons on human respect and the education of children. In these pages, Saint Alphonsus places in readers’ hands some “instructions for use” for an authentic journey of faith: masterful lessons in spirituality for modern people - often distracted and without sure guidance - offering substantial nourishment for everyday life in following the Son of God. Father Gilberto Silvestri, a Redemptorist, through a unique and faithful adaptation of the language to modern needs, presents a classic of Western spirituality in all its fresh relevance.
