Saint Gemma and the devil

In this volume, Father Tito Paolo Zecca, a profound scholar of Saint Gemma Galgani, reconstructs in a well-documented and richly detailed manner the history of a confrontation that lasted for years between Saint Gemma and the devil. “Chiappino”—the name Gemma gave the devil in a colorful, mocking, and contemptuous way—manifested himself to her in many forms and in many ways, in a relentless war that continued until the end of the young woman’s life, without interruption, with no holds barred, even going so far as to perform sensational acts such as attempting to burn her writings. She fought him openly, strengthened by the love of Christ, which conquers all darkness! The story of Gemma and her struggle is also important for our present, because the devil continues to act today: he does everything he can to deceive, divide, and spread evil, as the Author explains in the strange interview that concludes the volume.
