Saint Rita. The fifteen Thursdays and novena

The book offers the devotion of the Fifteen Thursdays of Saint Rita and the novena; it is also enriched by the Supplication to Saint Rita and some prayers to the Saint. The Fifteen Thursdays in preparation for the feast of Saint Rita arose from popular religious devotion to commemorate the fifteen years during which the Saint bore on her forehead the stigmata of one of Christ’s thorns. In presenting this form of popular prayer again, the author, Father Giustino Casciano, seeks to highlight its values for evangelization and growth in Christian life, values that remain valid and relevant in every age. Pope Francis called Saint Rita the “patron saint of impossible causes”; the prayers collected in these pages allow readers to express their devotion to her and ask for her powerful intercession.
