Each scapular comes in a transparent bag, complete with a card containing a brief explanation of the scapular. 

Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the Virgin Mary venerated on Mount Carmel since the time of the first friars, who built and dedicated their first little church to her and placed themselves under her protection; her veneration is linked to devotion to the scapular given, according to tradition, by Mary to a legendary prior general of the Carmelite order, Simon Stock, with the promise that all those who wear it will be freed from the pains of Purgatory on the first Saturday after death.
