Carve it into your hearts. From Platform 21 to Auschwitz and back: a journey through memory

Never say that you can’t do it; it isn’t true. Each of us is incredibly strong and responsible for ourselves. We must walk through life, one leg in front of the other. May the march that awaits you be the march of life. This is what I would like to tell you. “I know what it means to be rejected. To lose all hope in an instant.” - Liliana Segre “Liliana Segre’s memory seeks its destination in the present. Her words reveal it: she speaks of herself during the war as a displaced person, an illegal immigrant, a refugee, and an enslaved laborer. She uses expressions from our contemporary world so that the testimony of the past may serve as a bridge for speaking about today. Here and now. And, by questioning the present, Liliana points toward the future that only the young people listening can, without indifference and without hatred, shape, invent, and affirm.” (from the Introduction by Daniela Palumbo)
