Lord, Always Give Us This Bread. Prayers for the Table

Whether you eat or drink or do anything else, do everything for the glory of God! (1 Cor 10:31) Adam and Eve expressed their distance from God by eating, and so they sinned, realized that they were naked, and blamed each other! Now, clothed in Christ, we are allowed to eat together in humility and joy, grateful to the Father, who feeds the birds of the sky because he knows what we need; to the Son, who asks for water and bread, becomes a guest of humanity, and allows himself to be served; and to the Holy Spirit, who makes our meals an opportunity for communion! SUGGESTIONS FOR PRAYERS BEFORE MEALS DURING THE VARIOUS SEASONS OF THE LITURGICAL YEAR AND ON THE DAYS OF THE WEEK.
