Resin statuette (24.50 cm tall) depicting the Blessed Virgin Mary of Loreto, also known as the Black Madonna, patron saint of migrants and travelers. Her distinctive feature is her dark face, common in the oldest icons, caused by the smoke from oil lamps and candles or by chemical changes affecting the original colors. The Madonna is dressed in a dalmatic, the characteristic jewel-encrusted mantle, gilded in this version, and holds her Son Jesus in her arms.
