Pregnant Madonna statue, in colored marble powder. Height 23 cm

Wonderful statue of the Our Lady of Expectation, with a loving gaze and hands gently encircling her womb.

The colors of her garment are highly symbolic: blue represents the otherworldly and the divine; it is a sacred color that reminds us of Mary's privileged role in the history of salvation. Red, on the other hand, represents the human element. The use of these two colors visually expresses the concept that Mary brought divinity (Jesus) into humanity.

This depiction of the pregnant Madonna, also known as Our Lady of Expectation or Our Lady of Childbirth, symbolizes the anticipation and expectation of Jesus' birth, highlighting the importance of motherhood and the miracle of the Incarnation in the Christian faith.

The statue serves as a powerful visual reminder of the sacredness of pregnancy and Mary's role as the mother of Jesus. The statue of the pregnant Madonna is truly a meaningful gift to give and receive, to ask for intercession, protection, and blessings while trying to conceive, during pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood. Prayer is a way to express devotion and trust in divine protection and assistance.

Made of marble powder and crafted entirely by hand, from molding to finishing, this statue features carefully refined details in every aspect. Produced exclusively for Editrice Shalom, which directly oversaw the entire process, from the plasticine sculpture to the creation of the first model and finally the painting stage.
