I Call upon You, Lord. A Journey of Faith and Life.

There are moments when we call upon the Lord with brief, spontaneous prayers, with invocations such as “Lord, hear me” and “Lord, help me,” which express the cry of our heart to God. It is the prayer of darkness and light, of aridity and fervor; it is prayer in calm and in struggle. Through these invocations to the Lord, the book traces a short journey of faith and life that helps us explore them more deeply: each one is accompanied by a meditation structured in two parts. The first examines the condition of contemporary people who experience the need to be helped, heard, and healed; the second offers a biblical-theological exploration showing how these invocations find a solid foundation in Sacred Scripture. By savoring the beauty of each invocation, we experience God’s presence beside us.
