The celebration of the Eucharist requires absolute certainty regarding the sacramental matter. This sweet white Mass wine strictly meets the requirements established by the Code of Canon Law, which, in Canon 924, paragraph 3, categorically prescribes: “The wine must be natural, from the fruit of the vine, and not corrupt”.

Obtained exclusively from selected grapes grown in Sicily (Marsala), the product is entirely free of foreign substances, added sugars, or unauthorized additives, qualifying as the authentic “fruit of the vine” (cf. Lk 22:18) intended for the altar.

Ecclesiastical oversight and diocesan seal

The purity of the production chain is subject to the direct oversight of the authority of the Diocese of Mazara del Vallo. All key stages of winemaking and bottling take place under the supervision of the Episcopal Vicar and the Director of the Liturgical Office:

• Sealing of wine vessels: the winery containers are sealed in the presence of the diocesan authority, with the Curia’s seals affixed.

• Drawing and bottling: for each batch, the removal of the seals and the subsequent filling of the bottles are carried out under canonical supervision.

• Guarantee at origin: each bottle bears the diocesan guarantee seal on the neck label and the label, formally attesting to its sacramental suitability.

Technical profile and organoleptic stability

The sweet fortified nature of this liturgical wine meets a twofold need: ensuring the proper dignity of the celebration and preventing the product from turning sour. Unlike ordinary table wines, its alcohol content of 16% vol prevents acescence, preserving its flavor, roundness, and clarity even many days after first opening.
